The technician will ask you about the problem you are experiencing with your Apple device and may ask you to demonstrate the issue. They will then diagnose the problem and provide you with options for fixing it. This may include troubleshooting steps, repairs, or replacement.

Can You Trust the Genius Bar With Your Data?

You can usually trust the Genius Bar with your data. Apple has strict policies to protect customer data and keep it secure when performing repairs and troubleshooting at the Genius Bar.

Even with this in place, some dishonest Apple employees have been caught stealing and rating customer photos. Fortunately, this is a rare occurrence. If you share your passcode with a Genius Bar technician they may be able to look at your private data, files, and even photos. It is not recommended to share your passcode with anyone.
